Battery Guide

The TNY-360 isn't sold with a battery, but the TNY-360 V2 is compatible with a wide range of RC batteries.

Here's how to find the perfect battery for your TNY-360!

Which battery should I choose?

The TNY-360 V2 is designed to work with any 3S Li-Po battery that fits in the dedicated space at the bottom of the torso.

The battery must be smaller than:

DimensionMaximum size
Length140 mm
Width50 mm
Height25 mm

Most batteries available from RC stores or online marketplaces fit within these dimensions.

We recommend buying a ready-made battery pack rather than building one yourself. Building a Li-Po battery pack can be dangerous if it is not done correctly.

TNY-360 Built-in protections

The TNY-360 V2 includes many more electrical protections, including:

  • a fuse;
  • reverse-polarity protection;
  • over-current protection.

The TNY-360 V2 uses an XT60 connector (instead of the XT30 connector used on the V1). This makes it compatible with a wider range of RC batteries, without requiring an external fuse or BMS to protect the robot.

Mounting the battery

The bottom of the torso has a dedicated space for the battery. At the belly of the robot, you will also find three attachment areas where you can use hook-and-loop straps or zip ties to secure the battery.

There is a cover at the back of the torso where you can store the battery wires next to the XT60 connector. Make sure that the battery is held firmly and that the wires are not pinched or caught in any moving part before closing the torso.

Capacity and autonomy

The battery capacity and the robot's autonomy depend on how the TNY-360 is used. As a reference, a 2500 mAh 3S Li-Po battery provides approximately:

  • 2 hours of continuous walking;
  • 8 to 10 hours when the motors are only used occasionally, for example while changing your code or using features such as the face and audio system.

Official battery Pack

We would like to offer our own custom battery pack for the TNY-360 in the future. However, as we are still a small startup, production and certification costs currently make this difficult.
