Top Assembly

After making the Bottom of the leg, let's now assemble the Top part !

We'll start by adding the Servo Horn and a servomotor to it.


Add the Round Servo Horn

For this step, you'll need:

RessourceQuantity
Round Servo Horn1
M1.4 x 5mm screws4
Printed part Leg-Top (FL)1

Place the Servo Horn

Insert the Round Servo Horn into the slot at the top of the Leg-Top (FL) part.

Make sure the small slot for the servo axle is pointing up and the horn sits flush in the recess.

Screw the Servo Horn

Align the holes of the Leg-Top (FL) part and the holes of the Round Servo Horn, then secure the horn with the four M1.4 x 5mm screws.

Tighten the screws until the horn is snug, but avoid overtightening them !


Add the Servomotor

For this step, you'll need:

RessourceQuantity
Left MG996R Servomotor (the ones with 30cm long wires and an "L" label)1
M2.5 x 10mm Screws (from the servo bag)4

Place the Servomotor

Place the servomotor into the bottom cavity of the Leg-Top (FL) part, and check that the axle is pointing toward the bottom.

Make sure servomotor sits flush with the Leg-Top (FL) part.

Screw the Servomotor

Secure the servomotor using the four M2.5 x 10mm screws.

As always, tighten the screws until it's snug, but don't overtighten them to avoid any damage to the motor or printed part.


Verification

Check that everything is straight and well secured. Here's what it should look like :


The Top and bottom parts are assembled, let's put them together !
